Browse Lists / Fields In the Browse mode, your query for a term and for variations of that term is limited to a particular field in selected database(s). The result of this search displays a field-specific list with your term positioned alphabetically and with related terms adjacent in the list. The list generated can be very different depending on the field selected. For example, a search for Orwell, George in Subject(s) returns results including subject terms adjacent to the name. A search for Orwell, George in Personal Author returns a list that places the name alphabetically adjacent to other names that begin Orw. You can search only one browseText List at a time; however, you can search on more than one database, and the results are broken down to indicate the number of records in each database.
